The countdown to the New Semestyear has begun! We all have done New Year's Resolutions, but this time around I am proposing we all try something NEW. Semester Resolutions! Brand new classes mean brand new goals! And what better way to start the semester? 5 Resolutions you should consider for this upcoming term.
1: Pay Attention
This should not be a resolution. But unfortunately, less and less people are actually paying attention during class. What I propose is to forget your cell phones...in your backpack, forget your laptops....in your dorm (Pinterest and Facebook, I tell ya). Be engaged and take notes by hand this time. Try out a new note- taking method. Maybe sit in the front of the lecture hall for once. It may surprise you!
2: Use Your Planner
You got it for a reason. Crack that baby open and write all over it...neatly so you can read it later.
3: Spend Less
Learn more about money. Where is your money going? Good things? Bad things? If you feel that you are not good about your financial situation and you feel as if you will never be stable, NOW IS THE TIME TO FIX IT! Don’t wait too long. You are (most likely) in your early 20’s and can get control. Have some fun, but don’t waste your money on stupid things. You won’t regret it.
4: Maybe Do The Assigned Reading For Once
I get it. We're busy, but professors assign the reading for a reason. Once in awhile, crack open those VALUABLE books that you spend a lot of your money dollars on and get something out of them.
5: Do Some Aspiration Work
As Shia Labeouf says, "Don't let your dreams be dreams." Make a dream board and read why they work! Answer what you want to accomplish in the future and any obstacles that may come your way. These goals do not have to be far in the future. Maybe only a year or two in advance. Nonetheless, figure out some things to accomplish and DO THEM.
LETS HAVE A GREAT SEMESTER!
Good luck with those Semestyear's Resolutions and until next time,
Stay tuned for another New Year's Post coming next week!
