Wow! That semester flew by faster than we thought! Or did it?
Finals week has come and gone for most students and Christmas break is upon us! With all of our classes done until January, we are all thinking...what are we going to do for the next three-four weeks without any homework, speeches, or tests to worry about???
Well, I found a solution. I have come up with a list of 10 things we can do while home for break when not working or spending time with family.
So here we go: Downtime activities to do on Christmas Break!
1. Netflix Binge
This is obviously first on a lot of peoples' lists. Don't do too much of this, but heck, you're on break. Why not?
2. Fill out scholarship applications
These deadlines can sneak up on you. Take some time and use it to your advantage.
That's right. Read for fun. Grab that book you have been meaning to read, get a hot cup of coffee, curl up on the couch and make a nice dent on that amazing book.
4. Learn a new skill
It's break! You have time! Learn something new! I don't have any examples....go on Pinterest. I can't have all the answers.
Coloring has a very therapeutic effect on the brain. Grab one of those great new adult coloring books and say "goodbye" to that stress you've had since before finals.
6. Take a nap
You have wanted to take one ever since signing up for that night class, can I get an AMEN? Get a little blankie and shut the curtains. You deserve it.
7. Take on a picture project
i.e. Print all your pictures out at Walgreens or even better, SAVE all of your pictures from Facebook to a flash drive. I recommend doing one album at a time and assigning each their own folder. I did this over Thanksgiving break and I am very happy I did.
8. Get ready for next semester
I know you probably don't want to hear it, but anything you can do to set yourself up for success later would probably be a good idea. Order your textbooks and study your schedule.
9. Clean out.....
While you are switching some of your clothes to bring back to school, think about the clothes you never wear and things you never touch. Clean those out and donate them to your local Goodwill.
10. Make new playlists
Save some new songs to your Spotify and get a few new playlists on Pandora. Jam out to some new tunes!
This has concluded my three part Christmas series and hopefully you have enjoyed it! I hope you have an amazing holiday season!
Until next time,
